Netball with the staff

 Today lunch the year 7 and year 8 netball team vs the staff .The two teams each played a half.I was in the year 7 team.When we were watching the year 8 team play the small kids were shouting "GO STAFF,GO STUFF."But our team wanted the kids team win. Sadly the year 8 team lost because Karma was there,she got all the goals for the stuff team .I was a bit scared to go on.But it was very good that karma was for us because she is SUPER TALL !!!For our game our Center was Matena,She is really good at it. When we started to play I hurt my finger. : ( But I kept playing because I LOVE NETBALL !!

This game with the stuff was very Challenging. But we still got some goals,Thanks to Leilani. This game is a very good exercise,This game tort me to GROW TALL like karma.  

 

POSSIBILITIES

Next time if we have another game with the stuff, I will be more carful and tell my friend they did very well and say "it's ok" if they didn't catch the ball or didn't shoot it in.

Music Dynamics

Today for Immersion we learnt Music. Basically we learnt about Dynamics. First Elizabeth showed us a chart. The chart has all the symbols from Loud to soft.My favorite one is Fortissimo (ff).Then Elizabeth told one part of the group to get a piece of paper and stand around the other group that is sitting down and closing their eyes. Then she pointed at one symbol and told us to crinkle the paper loud or soft.It was super fun.When I sat down,I almost fell asleep because the sound was so nice .

Sketching Workshop

Finally we had a Art workshop (Immersion).The first Workshop's LA (Teacher) was by Elizabeth.She told us to draw something the represent you in LC3,so I drew my Friends Nicola and Luna and My writing book and pencil.The next workshop is with Daniel.He told us to draw four spaces on the paper with out a ruler.Then he said to write SHOUT in one and TALK and WHISPER in the other two.Then draw a flower-is leaf in each one.Then Shade it in the way the word is .   

For example: The word Shout: I will shade it in really Dark.

What the Sketching Workshop Helped Me With

This Workshop help me with my drawing skills.Also tort me a lot of ways to shade.

 POSSIBILITIES

Next time I will make my work more neat and draw more skills.

 

Thinking board

A thinking Board is a board that has 4 spaces to write (Draw) in and a little box to write the title or the question. For our math workshop today,we did a thinking board.Elizabeth said that one is for the Strategy name was another one is for doing the Strategy.The other two was a bit challenging.One is for explaining the Strategy and the other one is to draw the Strategy!I was a bit stuck one the drawing one.  

What the Thinking Board Helped Me With

  The Thinking board is a very good idea because it can make you understand more and make the person learn how to do the Strategy.

POSSIBILITIES

 I  think that I could make my thinking Board more neat and understand the illustrating part more.

Elizabeth's Workshop time !!!Today we learnt about all type of words.For example : Verbs,Nouns,Conjunctions,Proper Nouns,and a lot more.I think that it was challenging because I kept mucking it up.I couldn't remember which one is which.At last I GOT IT !!! :) Thanks Elizabeth !!

What Parts Of Speech's Helped Me With

When I write a story my friends and teacher's will go like add a verb and a adjective.I will be like "what is a verb?"But now I KNOW IT !!  

POSSIBILITIES

If Elizabeth teaches this lesson agin I will ask more questions and write down all the thing that Elizabeth said because I think I missed some.

How do Roots Grow when the Direction of Gravity Changes?That Question is my PBL (Project base Learning).I think the PBL is a super hard thing to do.I didn't under stand a thing but the good thing was that the LA's helped me a lot.I am really happy to get the teacher's support.They told me what to do step by step. Because they helped me so much I finally got on track and started my project. 

What the PBL Project Helped Me With

This Question helped me understand How do Roots Grow when the Direction of Gravity Changes and made me find out way more facts about roots and plants. E.g : How do Roots Grow ? As plants grow above the surface,there is also growth and occurs within the soil.Roots need to grow in order to better support the plant and to better absorb both water and nutrients for the growing plant. 

POSSIBILITIES

If it was possible I would think more and crosscheck more so the LA's don't have to send that much time on me !

Sheep’s Lungs and Heart

21/03/2016

A Sheep’s Heart and Lungs is almost the same as a humans, so the teachers brought a Sheep’s Heart and Lungs for us to explore. First Wendy (an AUT Science lecturer) showed us the hearts and told us about the parts.Then she wanted us to cut open the middle so we could see the heart strings.After that she took out a big part.It was the sheep's lungs.The heart was also attached to it.It was super disgusting and super FUN. After all that Disgusting fun stuff, we finished so we went to play with the body parts.When I came out I felt a bit dizzy.So I sat down and wrote some facts.

What Sheep heart and Lugs Helped Me With

This experience helped me learn that there are heart strings and other parts in our heart. It also helped me learn why we have a heart attack. The reason is that when the heart's blood get blocked up we will have a heart attack because part of the heart muscle dies.

POSSIBILITIES

If there is another change I will listen more carefully and BRING MY PHONE so I can take pictures of the Sheep’s Lungs and Heart. But luckily Amy took pictures and sent it to me.

Rip Currents

On Tuesday(15/03/2016) we went to the beach and we SWAM IN THE SEA !! But the most interesting fact is RIP CURRENTS.Rip Currents is a dangerous thing in the sea.It is something that can pull you far away from shore. Rip Currents can be near rocks so remember to swim between the flags.

What Rip Currents Helped Me With

Learning Rip Currents help me understand that there are dangerous things in the sea and now I know how to be safe if Im was court in a Rip Currents:

1st :STAY CALM !!!

2nd :Try to stand up !
If you can't lie on your back.

3rd :Put your hand up strait up so the lifeguards can see you.

4th :When the Rip Current stopped swim side ways and swim faraway from the Current.

BTW: Don't swim sideways in the middle of the Rip Current other wise you will be pushed back from the waves.

POSSIBILITIES

If we had a another chance I will write down all the words the the Lifeguards said ! 

Improper Fractions & Mixed Fractions

Improper fractions and Mixed Fractions is a type of fractions that you divide and Multiply.I think it is really hard because there is a lot of steps and it is my first time.I think that I was the only one that did working out on a piece of paper.I felt a bit bad.But at the end I was happy because I got it and finished the follow up in time.I am really proud of myself because I am really bad at math and that's why I don’t like math.

What Improper Fractions & Mixed fractions Helped Me  With

Improper fractions and Mixed fractions helped me with my time tables and made me find out that I am not that bad.Also showed me how to work out fractions.

POSSIBILITIES

I hope I can do them without working out and maybe practice more and be an EXPERT!!!

Pins is a workshop that LC2 and LC1 has (it is something like spins that LC3 and LC4 has.)Mackenzie,Lily-Rose and I did a workshop for LC2.We did Coloring Pages.It was really hard because the kids were shouting and they were snatcking the pens.Two girls were fighting over the pens ,they all wanted to put them back.Mackenzie,Lily-Rose and I didn't know what to do,so we took them of them and told them to go to brain brake

The workshop teaches me that we should not fight otherwise the teacher will be really annoyed,that's what happened with our workshop,we felt really annoyed. Also to Respect the speaker

If we can Print out more coloring pages and also say their names probably.It will be better if we had more pens and more equipment

FUTURE ME

We did a letter called ‘ Future Me, ’ it is really really challenging and I was really stuck . I did two drafts and I’m never agreeing on my writing . I didn't know what to do . I was so confused.But hopefully there was LA’s (Learning Averse) to help me.

What the Letter Helped Me With

The “Future Me” letter helped me with some Grammar,spelling,know what DEPTH is and made me learn some descriptive words.Also I like getting FEEDBACK from classmates and LA’s.

POSSIBILITIES

If I have another chance,I would write more and make my letter more neat,have more descriptive words.
